Students Selling Things During Study

Selling is an interaction between seller and buyer that usually happens in market or supermarket, online, etc. Selling can be used to sell goods or service. The goods which are sold are foods, clothes, etc and we also can sell services. Many youngsters are trying to sell their own products or tying to open their own businesses. That’s why many cafés are owned by youngsters now. The cafés’ concepts are modern and trendy.

 It is not only business men but also students want to sell their own products.  For example in many campuses, students sell goods and services. They sell it for themselves or their communities.

It is usually called as “usdan”. They do it because they need lots of money for their events such as concert, anniversary, or etc. In the faculty of cultural sciences, the sellers sell their products either put it in lobby or sell it around campus. They usually sell foods such as doughnut, snacks, etc.

It is not placed in the right place. They sell it along the bench which is used for the other students to sit on. They take the other students’ rights for sitting on the bench. “It’s good but it also takes our rights to sit on the bench”, meilinda said. Unlike meilinda, annisa said that it is better for them to sell it in the lobby because it’s neater than if they sell it around campus.

 It is also give so many profits for the sellers because they sell it with a bit higher than usual. For example doughnut usually prices about Rp. 1000-1500 but there we need to buy for Rp.2000 each. “The foods are so expensive, it’s better for me to buy in the canteen than there”, asa said.

It also has disadvantages when the sellers put their goods ion the bench. Their products are sometimes taken by entrusted people. It gives chances for them to take their products because no one could see it when there are no people around the bench. Fauziah said “yeah I’d lost 3 milks when I put my products on the bench. So I didn’t have profit because of it”.

However many students said that they are happy with it, “I’m really happy with it. I shouldn’t have to go really far to the canteen”, Ica said. It also gives much advantage for us too. Like Ica said, we don’t have to go too far to the canteen because we can find foods on the bench same as foods in canteen.  

It is also good for the other students to be honest. It makes them appreciate and honest what the sellers have done. The sellers just put it on the bench and they do their activities in campus such as do assignment

s, study, etc. It helps the other student to practice how honest they are.

By selling things in campus, it gives many profits for communities which need much money. It also gives many benefits for students who really need money for themselves. We have to appreciate what they do because we don’t really can do as they do for themselves.
